Supportive Programs

Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS)

MHR offers ARMHS services to clients who are enrolled in our Seward CSP program and our Supportive Housing programs as a way to increase the individuals skill level and elevate their opportunity for success in their recovery. ARMHS services are intended to support, assist, instruct and/or educate clients in strengthening their basic social and living skills to foster mental health recovery and manage the demands of independent, community based living. In 2013, over 40 MHR clients received ARMHS services while they were jointly enrolled in other MHR programming.

Mental Health Outreach Clinic (MHOC)

The Mental Health Outreach Clinic (MHOC) provides in-home therapy to adults who live with serious mental illness. Therapists in the Mental Health Outreach Clinic are licensed as psychologists, clinical social workers, and marriage and family therapists. This interdisciplinary team is recognized as a Rule 29 mental health clinic under Minnesota Statutes. MHOC is also designated as an Essential Community Provider (a health care provider that serves high-risk, special needs, and underserved individuals).

Our therapists have experience working successfully with individuals who live with mental illness and also see couples and family members who are impacted by mental health and or substance abuse issues. MHOC therapists provided services to 199 individuals in 2013 in the Twin Cities metro area. Appointments are available days, evenings and weekends.

Health & Wellness

Individuals with serious mental illness die an average of 25 years earlier than those without. One of the fundamental reasons for premature death among this population is that very few routinely see their primary care physicians. Additionally, poverty, chronic illness, serious mental illness, and involvement with the justice system all contribute to the low life expectancy for this community. To move the conversation and work forward, MHR implement a Health & Wellness Program to increase life expectancy for our clients. Current programming includes tobacco cessation and connections to best practices in dental care. Check back soon as we will announce more Health & Wellness Programming throughout 2016!
